Founded in 2014 in a California garage, our journey began with two world-class chemists, Dr. Eric Pressly and Dr. Craig Hawker. Together, they discovered a single active ingredient that fundamentally transformed the hair care industry: Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate.
This proprietary chemistry was a breakthrough. Unlike traditional treatments that merely coat the hair shaft or offer temporary conditioning, Olaplex works on a molecular level. By finding and reconnecting broken disulfide bonds in the hair—which are continually damaged by thermal, chemical, mechanical, and environmental factors—we restore hair from the inside out.
